The Power of One
I just came back from an important conference called The Power of One that took place in Washington, D.C. I know, those words evoke all kinds of questions: what is the power of one? How do we access it? Everybody wants power, right?
I will tell you, but first a preamble.
As we embark on this wonderful movement of consciousness that we call quantum activism, I am constantly amazed to meet people who are already quantum activists in the true sense of the words. One such person is Steven Lovink whom I first met at a conference in The Hague last March on the subject of the new science of spirituality. At the last day of the conference, Steven and I had a delightful breakfast together in which we contemplated on how to propagate the worldview change from the current primacy-of-matter to the primacy-of-consciousness that the new science is predicating.
Naturally, I was not particularly surprised that Steven, being a very capable visionary, would organize a conference, but the nature of the conference and the people he brought together captured my surprise and imagination. There were Swami Veda Bharati of the Hindu tradition and Sister Jenna of the Brahmakumaries—these are people you expect in a conference of this sort. But there were also Mrs. Harriett Fubright, the wife of the famous late senator, who spoke of the importance of the arts and Dr. Claes Nobel, a relation of Alfred Nobel, who advocated environmental awareness. A true meeting of people of the inner and the outer that quantum activism aims to integrate.
Steven’s ultimate goal is to organize a huge gathering at the Lincoln Memorial on 10-10-10 (Oct 10, 2010) to unleash the power of one to bring change beginning with the worldview change that we so badly need. Agreed, it may be just symbology, but who says symbols are not important?
Finally, what is the power of one? It is the idea that even one individual has the power to disturb the universe, to bring about real change. How do we access it? Quantum physics says that we become empowered with the power of one when our individual intention resonates with the movement of the cosmic consciousness, the cosmic One.
Speaking of symbols, at Steven’s conference, I also had a delightful dialog with a protagonist of 2012 doomsday scenario. This fellow (a very nice fellow actually) predicted that there would be an economic meltdown in 2007 which as you know has come true. So his next prediction is that the economic situation will progressively get worse and in 2012 and the world as we know it, will end.
What is my response to this? What does the new paradigm has to say on all this? Well, stay cool. This particular meltdown of the economy, bad as it has been, is obviously manageable and Mr. Obama and other world leaders seem to be managing it. So I think that a catastrophe in 2012 is premature.
However, if the worldview does not change and we continue with the greed and economic adventurism of materialist economics, and in addition, if we don’t recognize the power of alternative medicine for dealing with the health care crisis, economic meltdowns will become quite frequent and one of these days nobody will be able to manage it. Then . . .
2012 may be a metaphor but I don’t think we have too much time to waste either. So I invite you to join me and other quantum activists at the Lincoln Memorial on 10.10.10 with the following three clear intentions:
- To change the worldview from primacy of matter to the primacy of consciousness;
- To replace the current materialist economics with a spiritual economics which has no boom and bust cycles; and
- Invoke integrative medicine (applying both conventional and alternative medicine as appropriate) for health care.
Will we access the power of One? We can and we must.

A friend just shared this site with me and I am feeling great joy at the syncronisity of all that is spoken of here and what from others that share the same “Oneness”. I have been reading about “the Law of One” that states that we truly are all part of the One Consciousness that exists throughout the universe. http://www.llresearch.org is a website for The Law of One and more.
