Quantum Activism – A Course of Study

The objective of this course of study is to introduce the student to a new kind of spiritual living that will bring about positive change to the individual and in the world. The purpose is personal transformation but always in conjunction and synchrony with social transformation. The guidelines are those provided by the new science within consciousness rooted firmly in quantum physics.

“Never doubt,” said the anthropologist Margaret Mead, “that a small group of dedicated people can change the world, in fact it is the only thing that ever has.” The most current theory of evolution suggests the very same thing.

The long-term purpose of the quantum activism course of study is to create a core group of people who will be emissaries of peace, creativity, and transformation in the world to help bring about the transformation of our world so vitally needed for the next step of our evolution.

Why become a quantum activist?

Why should you become a quantum activist? Some time ago, the philosopher Nietzsche wrote, “God is dead.” What he meant is that the dominant Western religion of Christianity in its popular version was no longer able to act as a guiding light to assist people in moving toward ethics, morality, and spirituality.

In the last couple of years, many authors citing recent advances in science and technology have proclaimed this same idea, holding up the straw God of popular Christianity (a mighty emperor sitting in a throne in heaven doling out acts of reward and punishment to His subjects). This movement has culminated in putting up ads in London boldly proclaiming “There’s probably no God. Now stop worrying and get on with your life.” The implied connotation, No God to punish you, so why not become a hedonist? These authors and scientists are believers of scientific materialism, the metaphysical basis of post-modern science that has dominated the world through the second half of twentieth century and is dominating the scientific world even now.

To summarize the potential of the new paradigm:

60x60-physicsIn physics, this shift is changing our fascination with deterministic “predict and control” materialist science and making room for consciousness and creativity via the use of downward causation.
60x60-biologyIn biology, the new paradigm is radically changing our attitude toward such issues as consciousness, vital feelings, mental meanings, purposefulness and evolution, life and death. The seemingly never-ending feud between evolutionists and intelligent designers may finally be over.
60x60-psychologyIn psychology, the new paradigm is validating controversial ideas such as the unconscious, transcendental states of consciousness, meaning and creativity, intuition, survival-after-death and reincarnation, ethics, and spirituality. Finally, the psychology of the unconscious and the superconscious is becoming scientific.
60x60-medicineIn medicine, the new paradigm validates alternative medicine such homeopathy and acupuncture and is paving the way toward a long overdue integrative medicine.
60x60-economicsIn economics, the new paradigm reformulates capitalism in a way that eliminates not only the boom and bust business cycles but also the conditions that lead to current economic meltdowns like the one we are currently experiencing. In the new economics within consciousness we may finally be able to solve the problem of poverty.
60x60-businessIn business, eco-friendliness and sustainability will complement the pursuit of material profit; and the pursuit of meaning will complement the pursuit of money.
60x60-politicsIn politics, the new paradigm will bring a transformation from the current politics of power to a true democracy in the service of meaning.
60x60-educationIn education, the paradigm will balance the three R’s—reading, writing, ‘rithmetic—with the three I’s—inspiration, intuition, and (creative) insight.
60x60-religionIn religion, the new paradigm is paving the way to a new post-secularism that distinguishes spirituality and religion and celebrates the monumental discovery of a genuine science of spirituality that can guide us into the technology of the sacred.

What Can You Expect to Actually Learn?

If you seriously go through this course of study, your worldview—the conceptual lens you use to sort out your thoughts—will change. You can expect to take quantum leaps of thought that will help you realize that it is consciousness, not matter, that is the ground of all being, that your interior experience sets the context for your exterior experience. You will learn the fundamental aspects of quantum thinking: downward causation and its three all important attributes—nonlocality or signalless communication, discontinuity as experienced in a creative insight, and tangled hierarchy, those holistic structures of matter that lend themselves toward the manifestation of subject-object split experience from quantum possibilities.

You will happily discover that the so-called mind-body problem has been solved and the whole human experience—sensing matter, feeling vital energies, thinking meaning, and intuiting the archetypes (such as love)—can be included within science. You can expect to learn what the tools are for realizing your complete human potential and how to use the tools.

You will investigate evolution as an evolution of consciousness. You will discover that Darwinism is incomplete as is the idea of intelligent design without evolution. You will learn about biological creativity and about the future of human evolution. Hint: it is all about meaning. This will help you explore the social aspect of your search for meaning and values.

You will investigate survival after death and reincarnation—both theory and empirical data. This will develop in you a sense of your own personal search for the meaning of your life and how to go about finding and fulfilling it.

Right thinking will lead you to the most important step of learning how to walk the new concepts that you now understand, appreciate and are able to express. After you know that you have free will, you will learn how to use your free will, how to be creative, how to change inside and out. You will engage the creative process in your journey of inner transformation. You will receive guidance for your practice of emotional intelligence, ethical living, how to engage in quantum relationship with others, intimate and otherwise, and how to use conflicts in a creative fashion. You will learn how to explore and use the energies of love. In terms of health and healing, you will move from ordinary health to positive health, both physical and mental.

The more you investigate the potentials of the new paradigm, the more the world around you will seem to be far from the idealist world you envision. So finally, you will learn how to go about earning your livelihood in a meaningful way and how to engage in the social changes that we need to bring about in the social systems that prevail in our society and culture.
