Can We Creatively Change Our Economics?

international_court_of_justice

Amit Goswami believes we can do no other if we expect to survive, moreover to thrive, and he’ll explain his theory of Spiritual Economics to the world next month at The Hague in The Netherlands.

His words come none too soon as the world’s economy disintegrates before our eyes and begs for reinvention and transformation into a system that works for and with our growing consciousness as a major part of the “bottom line”, rather than one that exploits, manipulates and consumes our material world.

Dr. Goswami will lay out his agenda as the keynote speaker for the International Dialogue on “Cultural Diversity: Catalyst for Citizenship, Creativity and Communication – enabling sustainable life-styles” which takes place March 18-19 at The Hague.

Goswami’s talk, “Quantum Creativity; engagement in both Outer and Inner Creativity“, will kick off the China-Europe Dialogue and Exchange for Sustainable Development’s (www.ce-desd.org) conference for world-class cultural creatives.  His talk will offer an extension of the current Adam Smith capitalistic model into a spiritual economics incorporating Science within Consciousness, Goswami’s specialty within quantum physics.

As a guest of the Municipality of The Hague, Dr. Goswami will tour the city and join the formal conference welcome reception in the Oude Stadhuis (Old City Hall) on March 17th.

Along with keynoting, Dr. Goswami will serve as a table host during the afternoons of the 2-day conference, and then participate in the CE-DESD’s open dialogue on The State of Consciousness on March 20th.  Discussants will include members of WorldWatch, Planet 2025, World Bank and INSID (Foundation of the Dutch Prince Carlos de Bourbon de Parme).

It’s the Worldview, Mr. President

An Open Letter to President Obama

Dear President Obama,

During president Clinton’s election campaign, the very effective slogan, ”It’s the Economy, Stupid” was coined.   Your slogan, “Change that you can believe in”, although perhaps not as provocative as Clinton’s, was not so entirely bad either.  It worked, didn’t it?  Even so, I think the phrase “It’s the worldview, stupid! ” would have been more relevant.  Please hear me out.

President Obama

Now that you are at the helm of the country and have started to institute changes, your changes more and more seem to be a mixed bag of ideas.  Almost everybody that voted for you and still supports you, feels a little unsure if he or she can believe in all of the changes you have begun.  In some of them, yes; but in others, we are not so sure.

Speaking specifically, the required changes needed are about meaning and values. When you were campaigning, you got that one right Mr. president! When you put programs forward in favor of the middle class, universal health care, education, or green economy, you are unambiguously siding with meaning and values. No confusion there.  But when you side with programs for bailing out the financial investment banks like AIG, are you supporting meaning and values?   Continue reading…

Merlian News reviews the Quantum Activist

By Cheryl Shainmark

This excellent film takes up where ”The Secret“ & ”What the Bleep?“  left off. If you’ve been wondering why, despite your best intentions, you haven’t manifested a BMW or the winning lottery ticket, then ”The Quantum Activist“ will set you straight.

Better yet, this film may jump start the kind of collective leap of consciousness needed for solving the big issues like war, poverty, global warming and the environmental crisis.

The Power of One

DC-Day1--15I just came back from an important conference called The Power of One that took place in Washington, D.C.   I know, those words evoke all kinds of questions: what is the power of one?  How do we access it?  Everybody wants power, right?

I will tell you, but first a preamble.

As we embark on this wonderful movement of consciousness that we call quantum activism, I am constantly amazed to meet people who are already quantum activists in the true sense of the words.  One such person is Steven Lovink whom I first met at a conference in The Hague last March on the subject of the new science of spirituality.  At the last day of the conference, Steven and I had a delightful breakfast together in which we contemplated on how to propagate the worldview change from the current primacy-of-matter to the primacy-of-consciousness that the new science is predicating.

DC-Day2--2Naturally, I was not particularly surprised that Steven, being a very capable visionary, would organize a conference, but the nature of the conference and the people he brought together captured my surprise and imagination.  There were Swami Veda Bharati of the Hindu tradition and Sister Jenna of the Brahmakumaries—these are people you expect in a conference of this sort.  But there were also Mrs. Harriett Fubright, the wife of the famous late senator, who spoke of the importance of the arts and Dr. Claes Nobel, a relation of Alfred Nobel, who advocated environmental awareness.  A true meeting of people of the inner and the outer that quantum activism aims to integrate.

DC-Day3--1Steven’s ultimate goal is to organize a huge gathering at the Lincoln Memorial on 10-10-10 (Oct 10, 2010) to unleash the power of one to bring change beginning with the worldview change that we so badly need.  Agreed, it may be just symbology, but who says symbols are not important?

Finally, what is the power of one?  It is the idea that even one individual has the power to disturb the universe, to bring about real change.  How do we access it?  Quantum physics says that we become empowered with the power of one when our individual intention resonates with the movement of the cosmic consciousness, the cosmic One.
